More than two decades of experience in relations with users and unique know-how ensures the Credo Bank`s reliability on the local market and in relations with international partners as well. Though, Credo Bank had a long way of development before this reputation marking.

More than two decades of experience in relations with users and unique know-how ensures the Credo Bank`s reliability on the local market and in relations with international partners as well. Though, Credo Bank had a long way of development before this reputation marking.

During the years, Credo Bank could create high-quality service, it has become a reliable financial partner and promoted individuals and enterprises in formation of their better future.

Staff in Credo Bank never forgets that customer's trust should be strengthened on a permanent basis. In 2021, Proparco (a branch of the private sector of AFD Group) made an investment in Credo Bank, according to which it became owner of 15% share in the bank. The French Development Agency and Proparco have a great experience in management, they provide financial and technical support of companies and financial institutions in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Near East. Proparco delivers expert assistance to Credo Bank at the initial stage of partnership and supports coming out of those common goals, which are named after the country's pursuit of sustainable development.

The past year for Credo Bank was also memorable with a big-scale deal on the financial market of Georgia, under which the Credo Bank has acquired 100% share of โ€œFINCA Bank Georgiaโ€. FINCA Bank Georgia was represented by a qualified and strong team. Thus, by joining FINCA Bank`s team โ€“ Credo Bank has made a significant step forward. FINCA Team members have joined the headquarters and they took different positions at Bank`s Service Centers. It should be mentioned that the merger process was implemented without hindrances for both company`s customers and this event has ensured the customers with a more high-quality and wide assortment of products.

Changes in the macro environment creates periodic obstacles for companies on the road to the goals set. Two recent years of pandemic was a big challenge for the world, including the financial sector of Georgia, but Credo Bank could promptly adapt with new conditions. Moreover, even offered to customers a number of innovations and improved digital service during the very crisis. It may be said that pandemic has accelerated the digitalization process and granted the customer with new digital opportunities. The basis of digital banking`s development in the company commenced in 2017, since the acquisition of license. The given direction implies improvement of banking services with innovative, digital technologies.

Today, the customers have an opportunity via Mycredo mobile and internet banking to use the banking services without any commission fee and paid mobile internet from any place. Payment of utility fees, money transfers, filling up the mobile balances, money conversions, receipt of money transfers or other services โ€“ all these services are rapidly implementable by customer via Mycredo, which were referred to significant time resource in the nearest past.

Besides the fact that individuals do actively use the digital banking services, Credo Bank has turned it into an integral part of the business, offering the entrepreneurs Mycredo Terminal. Mobile Terminal allows small and medium business owners to receive the card payments via their mobile phone, thus avoiding the acquisition and usage expenses typical to POS Terminals and the users easily pay the money (by their card) on the given objects.

Together with steps towards the digitalization and service development, Credo Bank continues development of the services adapted to customers. As the customer's behavior, needs and attitudes alter in the modern age, as flexible and adaptive the services are, especially when it comes to satisfy the different needs of diverse audiences. Thus, Credo Bank has submitted a set of personalized services and products to its customers.

Including, a new service named as โ€œCredo Bank Expโ€ became applicable in Georgia for citizens of foreign countries residing in Georgia, thus granting an opportunity to expats to benefit from special services and bank products adapted to them. The mentioned type of branch offices are already opened in Tbilisi and at the end of year, one is expected to receive visitors in Batumi City as well.

Promotion of entrepreneurs of Georgia and their employees to form a better future for them by offering affordable financial resources โ€“ is an unchanged mission, the Credo Bank has been serving for years, and an organization itself has made the progressive changes many times during its almost 25-year existence history. The company has undergone the path from Microfinance Organization into Large Bank, created a new concept branch offices, implemented modern standards of services and developed the services by stages.

โ€œIn Credo Bank we are never afraid of innovations, in order to offer the service to our customer in a more convenient manner, even our motto is unchanged through these years โ€“ simplification of human life, which implies offer of simple and affordable financial decisions via digital ecosystem adopted on customer`s needs. Our goal is to make Credo Bank a universal financial institute for the customers with any age and needsโ€œ โ€“ state in Credo Bank.

According to analysts` opinion, there is a big competition on the Georgian banking market nowadays, that makes a positive reflection on customers.

Credo Bank permanently strives for progress, granting additional opportunity to its customers โ€“ use innovative and quite comfortable banking products, daily developed by the company and presented to the market.

EIB Global and Credo Bank Signed a Loan Agreement Worth 28.8 Million GEL

  • EIB Global and Credo Bank signed a loan worth GEL 28.8 million (โ‚ฌ10 million) to provide affordable financing to Georgian MSMEs.
  • Lending in synthetic local currency, the EIB is offering a floating interest rate for the first time โ€” not just in Georgia, but globally โ€” for even more attractive and flexible terms for clients.
  • Signature of the arrangement kicks off EIB Globalโ€™s โ‚ฌ100 million MSME Outreach Initiative for the Southern Caucasus to foster MSME lending by medium and smaller size banks in Georgia, as well as Armenia and Azerbaijan.

The European Investment Bank (EIB), the lending arm of the European Union, has strengthened its long-term cooperation with Credo Bank, Georgiaโ€™s fifth-largest commercial bank, by signing a new five-year loan agreement worth GEL 28.8 million (โ‚ฌ10 million).

The financing will be available in synthetic floating local currency to let micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) in Georgia enjoy better rates and to protect against exchange-related risks. This is the first such arrangement by the EIB worldwide, setting a precedent for other countries.

The loan is also the first granted under EIB Globalโ€™s โ‚ฌ100 million MSME Outreach Initiative for the Southern Caucasus region. Signed in late 2022, the initiative improves inclusion and access to finance for underserved MSMEs in the Southern Caucasus by helping the medium and smaller size banks of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia broaden their service offerings.

EIB Vice-President Teresa Czerwiล„ska, responsible for the Bankโ€™s activities in Georgia, remarked, โ€œThe EIB is very glad to support Georgian MSMEs, providing more affordable capital so that they can continue to work, invest, strengthen the Georgian job market and accelerate its economic growth. This latest loan with our long-time partners at Credo Bank will help the countryโ€™s economy overcome some of the problems created by energy and food price shocks, inflation, the pandemic, climate change and regional conflicts. As the bank of the European Union, we are pleased to help Georgia continue to grow, develop and further improve living standards for its citizens.โ€

โ€œMSMEs are the beating heart of the EU single market economy, and a major engine of resilience,โ€ explained Pawel Herczynski, EU Ambassador to Georgia. โ€œSo itโ€™s great news that the EIB and Credo have chosen to sign this loan agreement. I hope it will help smaller companies develop and claim their place on the market. We very much welcome this important contribution to inclusive and sustainable growth in Georgia.โ€

Maciej Czura, Head of EIB Regional Representation for the South Caucasus, added, โ€œToday, I am delighted to launch the next transaction supporting MSMEs in Georgia โ€” already our third project with Credo Bank, and part of over โ‚ฌ340 million we have committed to support Georgian businesses in cooperation with local financial institutions. I look forward to the successful implementation of the MSME Outreach Initiative, which will help implement the EU Economic and Investment Plan.โ€

โ€œIt is our honour to continue our successful strategic partnership with the EIB,โ€ said Credo Bank CEO Zaza Pirtshkhelava. โ€œThis is a benchmark transaction of great importance. It grants access to the affordable, long-term local currency funding necessary to MSMEs, our core customer segment. Moreover, it supports Georgiaโ€™s efforts to de-dollarise the economy. My sincere appreciation goes to the transaction teams for delivering this project in a short time, and for helping make Georgia and Credo Bank frontrunners in launching this important MSME Outreach Initiative for the Southern Caucasus.โ€

Papuna Lezhava, Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, remarked, โ€œThe EIB is an outstanding international financial institution and long-standing partner of Georgia, which helps us in economic and social development of the country. Providing funds in both local/foreign currency, EIB focuses on sectors and projects, which have high development impact. This particular โ‚ฌ10 million funding in local currency with 5 years maturity and the purpose to finance MSME segment will be an important transaction because of its importance for Credo bankโ€™s business model. โ€

Georgians are the first to benefit from a new EIB credit line for the Southern Caucasus

The loan stems from EIB Globalโ€™s โ‚ฌ100 million MSME Outreach Initiative for the Southern Caucasus. Created to support regional small and medium-sized banks and financial intermediaries in Armenia, Azerbaijan and Georgia, the initiative will stimulate competition in the banking sector and increase the quality and quantity of finance accessible to MSMEs. Georgian MSMEs will be the first group to benefit thanks to the excellent relationship between EIB Global and Credo Bank.

The initiative will help companies maintain business activities and increase crisis resilience, making Georgiaโ€™s economy more sustainable and strengthening its financial sector. MSMEs are key drivers for growing incomes, accelerating job creation and improving living standards. Around 26 500 jobs will be created or maintained in the MSME sector of the Southern Caucasus region, fuelling private sector-driven growth and promoting social inclusion through finance in the form around 6 150 sub-loans for MSMEs.

The MSME Outreach Initiative is part of the European Unionโ€™s flagship initiative to help MSMEs reap the full benefits of deep and comprehensive free trade agreements. It directly promotes objectives of the Economic and Investment Plan for the Eastern Partnership and the EU priorities agreed with the Georgian government.
